Healthy Hair Brushing Tips

We all think that brushing our hair keeps it looking healthy and beautiful. However if you really want healthy hair then this is a must read blog post for you. We share some top healthy hair brushing tips with you to ensure healthy, glossy and beautiful hair.

To brush out tangles start at the tip then work your way to the top of your scalp. However, you need to finish with a few brushes from root to tip. This will result in extra shine through your hair as brushing down distributes the hairs natural oils throughout the hair. These natural oils will also strengthen your hair while adding shine.

The best time to detangle your hair is often before you get in the shower. Use a comb to work out any larger tangles and then brush your hair afterwards.  When your hair is wet it is more vulnerable to damage so it will help if you work out the tangles and knots when it is dry.

However, if you have curly hair then you are the exception to the rule. You should use some conditioner and conditioner to gently comb out tangles in the shower, especially if you find your hair tangles easily.

We may all have heard that brushing your hair 100 times a day is what the princesses do, but over brushing your hair can have the opposite effect of creating healthy hair. Aiming for 100 brushstrokes a day can cause stress to the outer layer of your hair. This will leave you will dry and dull looking hair.

If your hair is prone to looking frizzy or flyaway you may want to spritz some hairspray directly onto your hairbrush. This will minimise the risk of creating static which will reduce frizzy and flyaway hair. We would recommend no more than 2 or 3 spritzes of hairspray to your hairbrush at a time.
