How To Get Healthy Bleached Hair

How To Get Healthy Bleached Hair

As we have discussed in previous blog posts, bleaching your hair is one of the most damaging treatments you can do on your hair. When done properly bleach can be used to lighten any hair type. It can then result in healthy bleached hair. However, you need to be honest with your hairstylist about your hair history before treating it with a bleaching agent.

It is important that you are not tempted to rush the process. We are often asked by clients if they can go from brunette to blonde in one sitting. There is no straight answer. This depends on how dark your hair colour is at the beginning. Also, how light you would like to go. Typically, it is not possible to go from brunette to blonde in one sitting and have healthy bleached hair.

A drastic colour change like stated, will take time. We would recommend that you have a chat with your experienced hairstylist before the hair appointment. They can help you understand what shade you will get after one session. They’ll be able to manage your expectations.

We are not saying that brunettes cannot become platinum blondes. They can in some circumstances – just not immediately. It is also important to remember that it is harder to have healthy bleached hair as lighter tones are harder to maintain. If you want healthy bleached hair then you need to be prepared for more salon visits. This is especially the case if your hair is naturally quite dark.

Bleaching hair is extremely tricky, it is a science and an art. While it may be tempting to do it yourself at home, we would strongly recommend against this. There are dozens of variables for bleaching your hair and this can result in dozens of different results. For example, you may accidentally overlap the bleach during application which will lead to hair breakage.

If you want the best results from your bleached hair, and you want healthy bleach hair, then leave it to the hair colour professionals. It’s the easiest way to protect your hair and prevent accidental hair damage.
