We recently attended the Huntingdonshire Business Awards in St Ives. We were up against some really stiff competition in a very large geographical area. Locks and Shades were up for the Retailer of the Year award. The other two Huntingdonshire Business Award Finalists were ourselves and Floored by Ian Ltd.
The Hunts Post stated that the best in business were out in force for the awards event on Friday 2nd November. They added that the Huntingdonshire Business Awards was a chance to celebrate the thriving businesses and inspirational leaders across the district.
The Retailer of the Year award was won by Escape & Create Ltd. They are a sewing shop in St Ives that sells sewing materials and products. They also offer sewing and dress making classes in the local area, which are very popular with hobbyists. Locks and Shades were recognised as Huntingdonshire Business Award Finalists.
During the night there was a raffle. This raffle was made up of prizes donated by local businesses across Huntingdonshire. This raffle raised a whopping £4,246 for the chosen charity of the year.
A few of the Locks and Shades team went along to the awards ceremony in St Ives. We were really pleased to be recognised in this geographical area for this category. Although we were sad not to have won, we were very pleased to have made it as Huntingdonshire Business Award Finalists.
It was a fantastic night hosted by Stewart White, the BBC Lock East presenter. There was also entertainment from Mickey Fordola. Mickey is classed as an ‘old fashioned crooner with a twist’. He has also performed for HRH The Queen and Hong Kong Football Club.
As always, we would like to thank our awesome team of hairdressers in Yaxley for all their hard work. Without these talented people we could not offer the excellent level of service that we do. We would also like to thank you, our fabulous clients, for loving what we do with your hair, for recommending us to others, and for keep coming back to see us.
